- Tt30
tt30 is a young
think tank , an offshoot of theClub of Rome , composed of around 30 men and women ages 25-35.Origins
tt30 was formed in 2001 as an offshoot of the Club of Rome. Its aim is to identify and solve problems in the world, much like any other think tank; the difference, however, is the hope that a younger membership will perhaps provide more insight into problem-solving.
Mission
As stated above, tt30 is a think tank. Its self-stated mission is to provide the Club of Rome the perspective and enthusiasm of a younger generation in order to achieve the overarching CoR goals: achieving a global, non-governmental catalyst for social change. tt30 adheres to the basic principles of the Club of Rome, namely holistic thinking, taking a global approach, and envisioning long-term goals.
Activities
tt30 functions primarily as a platform for constructive
debate on issues directly related to the development of humanity. These challenges are summarized in a ”Web of the Problematique”. tt30 focuses on analyzing specific issues in the Web and proposes approaches to solve them. Findings and proposals are distributed through the tt30 website, as well as through media and other networks.tructure
As a forum provided by the Club of Rome, tt30 works under the direct supervision of the Secretary General of the Club of Rome, and regularly reports to the Executive Committee of the Club of Rome as well as to the Board of the European Support Centre. tt30 regularly informs the Club of Rome on activities and proceedings via a coordinating team, which has administrative support of CoR staff of the European Support Centre in
Vienna, Austria .Participants
Participation in tt30 is restricted to those between 25 and 35 years of age. Members are selected for one-year terms from both former participants and new applicants by a Selection Group of three Club of Rome members, who receive recommendations from the Co-ordinating Team. Turnover among tt30's membership is approximately 20% yearly. Currently, tt30 has members from Asia, Africa, North and South America, the Middle East, as well as Europe. Participants are involved in academia, the business sector, international, and both inter- and non-governmental organizations.
