September 29 ,1935 inDallas, Texas ) was an American collegiate and professional football player who retired after the1966 NFL season .After playing football at Kilgore High School, in
Kilgore, Texas , atBaylor University , Humphrey was an All-Conference player atquarterback . He scored the winning touchdown on a quarterback sneak in Baylor's 1957Sugar Bowl victory. He was drafted by theLos Angeles Rams in the second round in 1959, as result of a trade with Washington. He was a member of the Los Angeles Rams during the 1959 and 1960 season. In 1961 he was traded to theDallas Cowboys . He left the Cowboys at the end of the 1961 season and was a member of theSt. Louis Cardinals from 1963 through 1965. In 1966 Buddy played for theAmerican Football League 'sHouston Oilers .After his pro football career was over, Buddy had a very successful career as a
high school football coach andeducator . He served ashead coach , principal andathletic director for his home town of Kilgore, Texas.He died April 21, 1988, in
