- Byemoor, Alberta
Byemoor is a small hamlet on Highway 589, located about 70 kilometres south-east of Stettler, and about eighty kilometres north-east of Drumheller. Byemoor is in the south end of the Stettler County Byemoor is home to a small grocery store and post office, gas station, hotel, arena, community hall, curling rink, St. Paul's Anglican Church and Byemoor School, (elementary/junior high school), all of which service the small farming community, as well as some minor oil field offices.
Byemoor was built in the early twentieth century along the railroad line, and was so named for the area's resemblance to a moor in England (Byemoor = By-the-moor) In its early years, it was an important centre as it was the main town for a large number of small farms. Crises in agriculture and improvement of transportation to larger centres, however, led to the slow depopulation of the hamlet and area.
Byemoor's closest neighbour is the small hamlet of Endiang, approximately ten kilometres to the east. Together, the two communities are known as
Endmoor .The hamlet is administered by Stettler County. [Cite web|url=http://www.municipalaffairs.gov.ab.ca/cfml/profiles/data/0299_1.htm|author=Alberta Municipal Affairs|title=Stettler County No. 6 - County Profile|accessdate=2008-06-24]
