School Emblem

Roots:
The roots branching out in five directions symbolise the school's five core values: Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Dedication to nation and Excellence (PRIDE). The roots are the foundation of the tree; without them, the tree will not survive.

The Circular Shape and Horizon:
The circular shape symbolises a holistic education where Chong Boonites are educated to be gracious all-rounders. The flow of the horizon reflects the ease that students feel in embracing a holistic education.

The Tree Reaching Out:
The tree reaching towards the sky symbolises the students developing all social and emotional competencies and maximising their potential in whatever they do.

The Birds:
The birds flying in the sky represent the creative and entrepreneurial spirit of Chong Boon. They symbolise the students going beyond the school and its curriculum to venture into uncharted territories in their pursuit of lifelong learning. With moral courage, confidence and resilience they will fly the extra mile to serve the nation.

Suggestions by students for school improvement were welcomed and rationale for decisions were discussed to help them appreciate the value and respect for collective responsibility. Student Managed Activities

2005 started off with the student leaders from Sec 2 to Sec 5 getting together to plan and organise the Sec One Orientation. The programme, called ‘The Metamorphosis’, was so successful that they felt confident enough to take on greater responsibilities and had gone on to be key players in organising this year’s school’s Cross Country, the Track and Field event and Total Defence Day. One other initiative undertaken by the IT Club was the ‘Computer Literacy Course’ for Parents. Sec 3 and 4 pupils prepared course materials and conducted the course and now they have plans to impart computer skills to their junior schoolmates.
