Charles M Dollar, an internationally recognized expert on the
life cycle management ofelectronic records , particularly electronic records archiving, pioneered research intodigital preservation of electronic records. He holds aPh.D. inHistory from theUniversity of Kentucky .While on the staff of the National Archives, Dr. Dollar organized and directed the first electronic records program for the
United States Federal government and subsequently had a major role in research projects on digital technology standards, digital storage media, and digital imaging applications in electronic archiving. In 1994 Dr. Dollar joined the Graduate Faculty of the School of Library, Information, and Archival Studies at theUniversity of British Columbia where he taught in the Archival Studies Program. In 1999 he joined Cohasset Associates as a Senior Consultant.Over four decades he has published groundbreaking articles in leading archival and
records management journals. His prize winning monographs include on "The Impact of Information Technologies on Archival Principles and Methods" (1992) and "Authentic Electronic Records: Long-Term Access Strategies" (1999).elect bibliography
