Chemical Sound (a.k.a Chemical Sounds or The Chemical Sound) is a recording studio located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Established in 1992 by record producer Daryl Smith (with help from Ian Blurton), it is known for its “no frills” interior design, a large selection of vintage (circa 1960’s and 1970’s) recording equipment and API mixing console.
In 2006, the original location at King St. and Portland was demolished to make way for condominiums. The studio has consequently relocated to Riverdale, Toronto, and is now owned by Dean Marino and Jay Sad.
