Jack Lohman was appointed Director of the

London ,England , of Polish parents, Jack Lohman was educated at theUniversity of East Anglia where he studied History of Art. He was awarded a scholarship to readarchitecture at theFreie Universität Berlin and later obtained an MA at theUniversity of Manchester . He went on to win aBritish Council Fellowship Award to study Architecture and Conservation inWarsaw .Before taking up his present appointment, Jack Lohman was the
Chief Executive Officer of Iziko Museums ofCape Town ,South Africa , an organization consisting of fifteen national museums including theSouth African Museum , theSouth African Maritime Museum and theSouth African National Gallery . Here he led the creation of a new museum institution and the transformation of the national museum sector.He was a Director of
TVC Ltd, an award-winning film and audio-visual production company and MET Studio, a multi-disciplinary design consultancy based in London,Singapore andHong Kong and, between 1985 and 1994, he worked forEnglish Heritage , developing museums and exhibitions both nationally and internationally.Jack Lohman is also
Professor of Museum Design and Communication at theBergen National Academy of the Arts inNorway . He is Chairman of theInternational Council of Museums (ICOM) UK, a member of the UK National Commission forUNESCO Culture Committee and a Trustee of the National Museum in Warsaw.References
