Azerbaijan is divided into:
*12 divisions
**10 economic regions; subdivided into:
***59 districts ("rayonlar"; sing. - "rayon")
***11 cities* ("saharlar"; sing. - "sahar")
**Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (some rayons are under its jurisdiction)
**1 autonomous republic ("muxtar respublika"), which itself subdivides into:
