Adrian Colliver Rigby (Born
13th March 1962 inChorley ,Lancashire ) is an award winning artist with studios inLancashire ,England andFlorida ,United States .His father was a local newsagent in Chorley for many years and an active Freemason. He demonstrated considerable artistic talent from an early age. He was educated at St John's Primary School, Brinscall in Lancashire, St Michael's School Chorley 1973-78 and Runshaw College Leyland 1978-80 before attending the Blackpool School of Art from
1979 to1982 . He went on to teach art at the school from1982 through to1985 .In 1996 he won three wildlife art awards at the Open Exhibition of The Wildlife Art Society for his painting "Rushing Waters".
Although most famous for his wildlife paintings, Rigby is also known for his transport works (notably
Concorde and Titanic) which are popular amongst collectors. His set of four limited edition Titanic prints ('Stretching Her Legs', 'Date With Destiny', 'Ship of Dreams' and 'Last Farewell') sold out shortly after release. He has also has contributed significantly to theAmerica's Cup genre of marine paintings.His works are often compared to those of British artist David Shepherd, whose subjects also include wildlife and aircraft.
He lives in
