The Cango Wildlife Ranch is a wildlife ranch 3
kilometres north of the town ofOudtshoorn inSouth Africa .Since the establishment there in
1993 of theCheetah Conservation Foundation , the ranch is one of the leadingcheetah breeders not just in South Africa but the entire continent ofAfrica , and is one of the world's five top protection institutions. The breeding enclosure is not available to visitors but they are permitted to enter a fenced area to interact with tameCheetah .Walkways elevated over a natural bushveld environment allow people relatively close views of powerful predators such as the
Lion , theJaguar and the Puma.Crocodile s andalligator s of which there are over 400, are also bred at the ranch and exoticsnake s on show include aSouth American albino python, a 4 metre (13 ft)boa constrictor and aCopperhead Viper . A breeding programme is also underway for the endangered Capewild dog .The ranch has a unique restaurant overlooking a watering hole inhabited with
flamingo andblack swan .
