*Prince Adam - Originally intended to be the heir of Old King Frederick but was deemed unsuitable, and consequently another Prince - Peter - was trained.

*Raymond Aguerra (A.K.A. King Peter) - Raymond Aguerra was the eldest son of Rita and Esteban Aguerra - born in 2413 CE - and lived with his mother and brothers in an apartment complex for fourteen years. After being kidnapped and educated in becoming king.

*King Bartholomew - The Great King of the Terran Hanseatic League from 2323 A.D. to 2381 A.D. and was the successor of King Jack. Bartholomew was himself succeeded by King Frederick.

*King Ben - The first Great King of the Terran Hanseatic League and ruled from 2221 A.D. to 2254 A.D. Ben was succeeded by King George. In 2427 one of the moons of the gas giant Oncier was named after the Great King.

*Miguel Byron - The Chairman of the Terran Hanseatic League from 2315 A.D. to 2347 A.D. and in his term as the Chairman he developed a reputation for being hedonistic as, for example, he sometimes held his cabinet meetings in spas.

*Eldred Cain - Completely hairless and the heir-apparent and deputy of the Chairman of the Terran Hanseatic League, Basil Wenceslas. Cain lived in an apartment without windows so that he could fit more paintings into his living space. He was far less arrogant than Basil, and actually served as King Peter's secret aide in the Whisper Palace, helping him receive information. He also helped to leak various pieces of information on Peter's behalf, most notably the announcement of Estarra's pregnancy. He later gave Peter and Estarra the means of escaping Whisper Palace by providing them with information on the hydrogue warglobe derelict contained within the palace. He was considered a 'failure' by Basil for not complying readily with all of his decisions. As Basil's sanity fades, Cain takes it upon himself to usurp Basil when the opportunity presents itself.

*King Christopher - The third Great King of the Terran Hanseatic League and ruled from 2274 A.D. to 2307 A.D. He succeeded King George and was succeeded by King Jack. In 2427 one of the moons of the gas giant Oncier was named after the Great King.

*King Frederick - The sixth Great King of the Terran Hanseatic League and ruled from 2381 A.D. to 2427 A.D. Frederick was the successor of King Bartholomew and was succeeded by King Peter upon his death at the hands of the hydrogue emiisary that detonated, destroying the Throne Room of Whisper Palace.

*King George - The second Great King of the Terran Hanseatic League and ruled from 2254 A.D. to 2274 A.D. George was the successor of King Ben and was succeeded by King Christopher. In 2427 one of the moons of the gas giant Oncier was named after the Great King.
*Bertram Goswell - The Chairman of the Terran Hanseatic League from 2291 A.D. to 2298 A.D. and in his term as the Chairman he tried to persuade the Roamers to sign the Hansa charter. It was partly due to Goswell's name that the Roamers started calling Hansa the 'Big Goose'.

*King Jack - The fourth Great King of the Terran Hanseatic League and ruled from 2307 A.D. to 2323 A.D. Jack was the successor of King Christopher and was succeeded by King Bartholomew. In 2427 one of the moons of the gas giant Oncier was named after the Great King.

*Prince Daniel - The hastily chosen replacement for King Peter(Raymond Aguerra) whom ended up not living up to Chairman Basil Wenceslas' expectations.

*Davlin Lotze - An exosociologist (referred to as an expert in obscure details) employed also an by the Hansa and was assigned to the former Ildiran world of Crenna. He later becomes a hero.

*Franz Pellidor - Basil Wenceslas's 'expediter', and often did the Chairman's dirty work. This included such vile deeds as kidnapping Raymond Aguerra, slaughtering Estarra's beloved dolphins and planting a bomb on the royal yacht. He was killed when he was forced to drink poisoned coffee (meant for Basil) due to an accusation by Sairein.

*Basil Wenceslas - The Chairman of the Terran Hanseatic League in 2406 A.D and supervised the reign of the puppet kings Frederick and Peter.

*Maureen Fitzpatrick - A previous Chairman of the Terran Hanseatic League. An old woman also known as the 'Battle Axe' of the Hansa.

*Malcolm Stannis - The Chairman of the Terran Hanseatic League during the reign on King Ben.

*King Rory - Introduced in The Ashes of Worlds as the replacement for King Peter. King Rory also resembles Rory Aguerra who was King Peter's younger brother; however, he is not Rory Aguerra.

ilver Beret

*Captain Richard McCammon - The head of the Silver Beret and the Royal Guards, sympathiser and friend of King Peter, helped plan and carry out Peters escape to Theroc.

Earth Defence Forces

*Robb Brindle - The son of two EDF veterans and enlisted in the Earth Defence Forces at the start of the war against the hydrogues.

*Patrick Fitzpatrick III - The grandson of the infamous Maureen Fitzpatrick. He joined the Earth Defence Forces during its recruitment drive.

*General Kurt Lanyan - The commander of the Earth Defense Forces.

*Elly Ramirez - The navigator onboard the Manta commanded by Tasia Tamblyn but was promoted to the commander of the vessel upon Tamblyn's reassignment to the EDF base on Mars. While Admiral Stromo lead raids against Roamers from Ramirez's cruiser he let Ramirez give the general orders in situations of conflict. Ramirez was aboard Admiral Stromo's fleet when the Soldier compy uprising occurred, and was one of the last crewmen to meet her end, mere steps away from an elevator that would have taken her to supposed safety.

*Admiral Lev Stromo - The Grid Zero Admiral of the Earth Defence Forces and despite his success quelling an uprising on Ramah, the officer was nicknamed 'Stay at home Stromo' after suffering a major loss to the hydrogues. Stromo had more success leading EDF battleships against the Roamer headquarters of Rendezvous after the Roamers were denounced as outlaws, but never truly showed any relish for battlefield situations. He was also shown to lack adequate foresight for someone of his rank. Despite making it to the launch bay of his Juggernaut during the Soldier compy revolt, he was ambushed as he exited an elevator and was promptly killed.

*Admiral Sheila Willis - The Admiral of the Grid 7 battle fleet. She was considered a maternal figure, despite her high military rank. Admiral Willis was in charge of the Yreka blockade, and managed to barely escape with some of her ships during the Soldier compy revolt, she then went on to assist the remaining EDF forces against the Hydrogue attack on Earth in the Juggernaut "Jupiter". She is later given the command of ten Manta Cruisers to quash Peter's rebellion on Theroc after command of the "Jupiter" is passed to General Lanyan.

*Anwar Zizu - The security chief onboard the Manta cruiser commanded by Tasia Tamblyn.

Citizens

*Carlos Aguerra (2418 - 2427 A.D) - The third oldest child of Esteban and Rita Aguerra and he died in an apartment fire at the age of nine along with two of his brothers and mother.

*Esteban Aguerra- The father of Raymond Aguerra. He fled to Ramah after an argument with his wife and there converted to Islam and changed his name to Abdul Mohammed Ahmani as well as remarring and fathering more children. He was killed on the order of Basil Wenceslas to leave no loose ends from Raymond Aguerra's life.

*Michael Aguerra - The youngest of the four children of Estaban and Rita Aguerra and died at the age of six in an apartment fire along with his mother and two of his brothers.

*Rita Aguerra - The mother of Raymond Aguerra and was killed in an apartment fire engineered on the orders of Basil Wenceslas.

*Rory Aguerra (2417 - 2427 A.D) - The second oldest child of Esteban and Rita Aguerra and was apparently killed at the age of ten in an apartment fire along with his mother and two of his brothers. At the end of 'Metal Swarm' it is revealed he survived the fire and was chosen by Basil Wenceslas to be the next Great King, even though his older brother Peter (formerly Raymond) was technically still king.

*William Andeker - A scientist on Earth that attempted to learn the secrets of the Klikiss robots by capturing the one designated Jorax and dissecting it. Thinking the Klikiss robots were passive in nature (due to their quietude) Andeker suspected no threat from the robot, despite Jorax's large size. As such, Andeker was caught unawares when Jorax easily tore himself from his bonds and proceeded to rip the scientist to pieces. The Klikiss robot later claimed Andeka had triggered hidden defensive systems within Jorax upon attempted dissection.

*Anton Colicos - The son of Louis and Margaret Colicos, and was the first human from the Terran Hanseatic League to be allowed to study the Ildiran epic the "Saga of the Seven Suns".

*Louis Colicos - An xenoarchaeologist, husband of Margaret Colicos and father of Anton Colicos. Louis and his wife worked on several expeditions within Earth's star system including the investigation of Labyrinthus Noctis on Mars as well as on the excavations of Klikiss worlds such as Pym and Llaro. Louis was with his wife, the first to investigate the abandoned planets of Corribus and Rheindic Co; the first location being where Louis found the information that led to the rediscovery of the Klikiss Torch while the second location was the site of the reactivation of the Klikiss transportal system. Louis and Margaret Colicos were accompanied to Rheindic Co by the green priest Arcas, the friendly compy DD and the Klikiss robots Sirix, Dekyk and Ilkot. Louis was killed by Klikiss robots on Rheindic Co after helping his wife escape through the Klikiss transportal. His eviscerated remains were later found by Davlin Lotze.

*Margaret Colicos - An xenoarchaeologist, wife of Louis Colicos and mother of Anton Colicos. Magaret and Louis were both intrepid explorers of former Klikiss worlds.

*Jan Covitz - A colonist that settled on Corribus after leaving Dremen, and was also father of Orli Covitz. Jan was an eternal-optimist, always looking on the proverbial bright side, regardless of how bleak the situation truly became. He always tried hard to provide for his daughter, due to her lack of a mother. Jan was killed in the attack on the attempted Corribus settlement by Klikiss robot-controlled EDF ships.

*Orli Covitz - A very young but talented musician. The daughter of Jan Covitz and was one of two survivors of the Klikiss robot attack on the settlement on Corribus, after moving to the planet from Dremen. Herself and Hud Steinmann were later rescued and sent to Llaro along with the refugees from Crenna.

*Rlinda Kett - A trader and was once the head of a group of five trader ships that were reduced to four during the war against the Hyrogues.

*Gabriel Mesta - A captain of the trader ship "Great Expectations" in Rlinda Kett's organisation and was killed by the Roamer pirates led by Rand Sorengaard.

*Branson Roberts - A pilot in the merchant fleet headed by Rlinda Kett as well as one of Rlinda Kett's five ex-husbands.

*Madeleine Robinson - An early planet prospector and with her two sons rediscovered the abandoned Klikiss world of Llaro.

*Dr Gerald Serizawa - The enthusiastic scientist in charge of the application of the Klikiss Torch at Oncier. He died when the hydrogues returned to the world, proceeding to destroy its four moons and the Hansa observation station where he was based.

=Therons=

Green Priests

*Yarrod - The younger brother of Mother Alexa and a senior green priest, serving as the nominal leader of the green priests that volunteered to serve on EDF vessels until he returned to Theroc to help with the healing of the worldforest.

*Arcas - An insular Theron who became a green priest not out of any interest of his own, but because of his father's dying wish. Unlike other green priests Arcas did not enjoy company and so volunteered to serve as the Colicos's green priest on the isolated planet of Rheindic Co. Whilst there, Arcas rediscovered an interest in geology and found a previously hidden Klikiss city on one of his hikes. Arcas, and his treelings, where killed on Rheindic Co by the three Klikiss robots who were also on the Colicos's archaeological expedition.

*Beneto - The second-born child of the Father and Mother of Theroc, and thus was destined to become a green priest.

*Celli - The youngest child of the Mother and Father of Theroc. Because she was the fifth-born child, Celli had no set role to fulfill in the Theron society, and thus lived a fairly pampered life with her friends. She was prone to being both a little selfish and a little rash, but was a good child regardless. As a child, she had a habit of catching condorflies and keeping them as pets. Once the hydrogue war started, Celli was forced to mature drastically and did so with surprising ease. Although she was of royal blood, she had no problem in assisting the Theron victims of the battle between the faeros and the hydrogues. Over time, Celli became close friends with a green priest by the name of Solimar, and the two enjoyed tree-dancing together. During the effort to rebuild the worldforest, Celli stumbled across the form that would eventually become Beneto's verdani golem form. Overjoyed that her brother had returned, albeit in a different guise, Celli helped to sooth the peoples' suspicions and they welcomed the reborn Beneto into the fold. Later, whilst treedancing with Solimar, Beneto informed them that their efforts and love for the worldforest were helping to rejuvenate it on a small scale. As such, Celli and Solimar treedanced as often as possible, and their efforts began to make a difference in the overall recovery attempt. When Jess Tamblyn and the wentals summoned a fleet of new verdani treeships, Celli was forced to say goodbye to Beneto once again as the golem merged permanently with one of the treeships. Solimar had also volunteered to merge with a treeship but, due to Beneto's sublt intervention, was made to stay behind and comfort Celli. Much later, when the runaway Estarra and King Peter arrived on Theroc, Celli was overjoyed to see that her sister was blessed with child. Although unusually old, Celli decides to become an acolyte for the verdani (most become acolytes at a much younger age), the first step on the path to becoming a Green Priest, and is marked with tattoos in a ceremony performed by her proud uncle Yarrod.

*Nira Khali - A green priest from Theroc and one of two green priests that travelled to Ildira to study the saga of the seven suns.

*Kolker - A talkative green priest who served onboard the Hansa skymine at Qronha 3. During his service he became friends with the manager of the facility, Sullivan Gold.

*Rossia - A volunteer green priest that went to serve for the EDF. He walked with a pronounced limp due to being attacked by a vicious wyvern on Theroc, and was the only person to ever survive such an attack. Rossia died during the Soldier compy revolt, when the commanding general of his stationed Juggernaut set the engines to overload; wiping out all the treacherous Soldier compies nearby whilst instantly killing any survivors.

*Nahton - The court green priest at Whisper Palace after the retirement of Otema as Theron ambassador to Earth. His main purpose was to be a means of communication between the new ambassador Sarein and Theroc. However, as Chairman Wenscelas became increasingly irrational, Nahton opted to not pass on information he received to simply spite the Chairman. Instead he always tried to give updates to King Peter whenever possible, a task that grew more difficult as time passed. After the escape of King Peter and Queen Esterra, Nahton began to pass on information from Peter on Theroc, but refused to send any messages for the chairman. This resulted in the confiscation of his treeling, and the planning of an attack on Theroc by the EDF. a plan was hatched by Sarein and Captain McCammon to allow Nahton access to his treeling so to warn Peter of the impending attack, a task which he managed, however he was shot down in the act by Silver Beret Guards following orders of the Chairman.

*Otema - An aged green priest and former Theron ambassador to Earth, being succeeded in that role by Sarein. Otema was considered a prim and proper woman, yet was decidedly humble towards others. Basil Wenscelas seemingly had a tense relationship with her due to her staunch opposal to the Hansa employing Green priests, yet admired her business-like attitude. She was chosen for the assignment of travelling to Ildira to study the "Saga of the Seven Suns" and was subsequently murdered during the kidnapping of her assistant Nira Khali.

Citizens

*Lia - The Mother of Theroc who retired and was succeeded by her daughter Alexa.

*Uthair - The Father of Theroc who retired from the role and was succeeded by his son-in-law Idriss.

*Idriss - The Father of Theroc who retired from the role and was succeeded by his son Reynald. Who was then killed forcing Idriss and Alexa back to the throne.

*Alexa - The Mother of Theroc who retired and was succeeded by her daughter Estarra after Reynalds death.

*Reynald - The oldest child of the Father and Mother of Theroc, and thus was destined to become the next Father. Accepting his responsibilities as such, Reynald visited Earth and Ildira to discover methods used within the societies which were different from those on Theroc in hopes of gaining a wide variety of knowledge. Reynald even arranged a secret meeting with the Roamer speaker Jhy Okiah and her protege Cesca Peroni. However, the insular Roamers rejected a proposed alliance with Theroc at that time. After Reynald's ascension to become the Father of Theroc, the new Roamer Speaker-- Cesca Peroni --did belatedly accept Reynald's proposal that he had made some five years previously on their first meeting. Unfortunately, he never lived to marry Cesca, as he perished on Theroc when he was crushed by a brawling faeros and hydrogue. After his demise, Father Idriss and Mother Alexa were forced to rise to the throne once again.

*Sarein - The third child of Idriss and Alexa, and though she was born on the independent planet of Theroc she spent a large portion of her life on Earth, first studying business and then as the Theroc ambassador to the Terran Hanseatic League. While studying on Earth Sarein began a relationship with the Chairman Basil Wenceslas despite the difference between their ages and continued the relationship when she was named ambassador. Yet Sarein did volunteer to marry the King Peter to cement relations between the Terran Hanseatic League and Theroc but her sister Estarra was chosen over her. Later, after the death of Sarein's brother Reynald, it was suggested by Basil Wenceslas that she return to Theroc to claim the title of Mother of Theroc.

*Estarra - The fourth oldest child of the Father and Mother of Theroc. She had no true idea of what she want to do with her life, and displayed a loving infatuation with the worldforest however had no real desire to become a green priest.

=Roamers=

*Eldon Clarin - An engineer who helped design the Roamer facility Hurricane Depot as well as an improved ekti reactor and was aboard Berndt Okiah's skymine at Erphano monitoring the progress of the reactor installed in the facility when the skymine was destroyed by the hydrogues.

*Roberto Clarin - The manager of Hurricane Depot at the time of its seizure and destruction by the EDF.

*Del Kellum - The owner of the Roamer shipyards located in the rings of Osquivel, which when destroyed he moved to a skymine around Golgen, the first world to be made safe from hydrogues by the wentals.

*Zhett Kellum - The beautiful dark haired daughter of Del Kellum, and is on the receiving end of many young men's admirations, including Patrick Fitzpatrick III and Nikko Chan Tylar.

*Berndt Okiah - One of Jhy Okiah's numerous grandchildren. He was a dedicated Roamer skyminer who managed facilities at Glyx and then Erphano. Berndt was mostly considered to stubborn and arrogant by his fellow Roamers, as he was given "too many chances" and did not always listen to advice. However, during his brief role, he seems to truly want to make up for his past mistakes and make sure he runs his own skymine properly. This resolution comes to late, however, when he was killed in a Hydrogue attack.

*Kotto Okiah - Jhy Okiah's son and an engineer of remarkble skill creative skill, even by Roamer standards. Kotto notably managed to set up colonies in the extreme environments of Isperos and Jonah 12. In addition to this, Kotto implemented several improvements for Roamer skymines (all of which were unfortunately destroyed by Hydrogues), and was one of the Roamers who helped give the Therons planetary aid after an intense Hydrogue attack. He also designed the "Doorbell", an effective sonic-based weapon, for use against the Hydrogues. This weapon came about from him examining the intact remains of a Hydrogue 'warglobe', by means of discovering the sound frequency at which the door of the 'warglobe' is opened. He is later responsible for the design and implementation of weaponry onto existing Roamer spacecraft as a new defensive fleet for the Confederation.

*Jhy Okiah - The former speaker of the Roamer clans. She was remarkably old, having married four times and outlived each of her husbands each time, yet retained much of her enthusiasm whilst gaining much wisdom. Due to her numerous marriages, she had many children (Kotto Okiah being one of them) and a ridiculous amount of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, so many that she opted to stop keeping track of them all. Because she spent so much time either in space or in Rendezvous, Jhy's frail body had become adjusted to a lack of gravity, causing her great difficulty even on a planet with light gravity in comparison to Earth's. After the destruction of Rendezvous by the EDF, Jhy Okiah died on the Roamer outpost of Jonah 12, shortly before the complex was annihilated by Klikiss robots.

*Cesca Peroni - The only child of the Roamer trader Denn Peroni and spent the early part of her life moving from Roamer outpost to Roamer outpost with her father.

*Denn Peroni - A Roamer trader and the father of Cesca Peroni. Denn Peroni was held by Hansa at the EDF base on Mars around the time that Basil Wenceslas planned to assassinate King Peter and Queen Estarra so that he, and all Roamers, could be used as scapegoats. However, with the premature discovery of the bomb planted by Pellidor, King Peter managed to quietly release Denn Peroni. The trader was enlisted by his daughter to lead a convoy of Roamer ships to Theroc after the attack on the planet by the hydrogues, so that the Roamers could aid in the rejuvenation of the stricken world. Peroni was forced to abandon the effort along with the rest of the Roamers that had travelled to Theroc when the Terran Hanseatic League proclaimed that all Roamer were outlaws. From Theroc Denn Peroni travelled to the secure facility at Osquivel where he and other Roamers agreed to covertly sell their products to beleaguered Hansa colonies and the Ildiran Empire. Denn helped set up a makeshift hub market at Yreka, and later assisted Kotto Okiah in the manufacture of his anti-hydrogue 'Doorbell' weaponry and also deployed the weapons against the hydrogues at Earth. Denn is later assigned as the Official liaison between the Roamers and the new Confederation by King Peter, and has the Title of Speaker passed to him by his Wental imbued daughter, now unable to fulfill her duties.

*Bram Tamblyn - The eldest of five Tamblyn brothers and was the head of the Tamblyn clan and of the water mines of Plumas. He had three children - Ross, Jess and Tasia - and was made a widower after his wife Karla died. Due to his and Ross Tamblyn's similarly stubborn attitudes, Bram disowned his eldest son but was deeply hurt when he heard of Ross' death at the hands of the hydrogues. Bram passed away on Plumas soon after Ross' own death.

*Jess Tamblyn -

*Ross Tamblyn - The son of Bram Tamblyn and Karla Baker but was disowned by his father after a heated argument, Bram Tamblyn agreeing to give his eldest son his inheritance early which Ross invested in the Blue Sky Mine. Although Bram Tamblyn refused to speak with Ross, his brother - Jess Tamblyn - was a frequent visitor to the Blue Sky Mine at Golgen and often brought presents from himself and their sister Tasia. Ross was betrothed to Francesca Peroni who had agreed to marry the black sheep of the Tamblyn family if he managed to make a profit on his skymine within five years. During the betrothal Ross made a present of a black skypearl necklace for Cesca Peroni. Ross Tamblyn died before he managed to make a profit from Blue Sky Mine when the skymine was attack by hydrogues. His outward appearance was later adopted by the hydrogues whenever they took on a humanoid form (albeit sans emotions), as he was one of their first victims.

*Tasia Tamblyn -

*Crim Tylar - Worked with his wife Marla Chan on a hidden green house that was attacked by an earth battleship. They stayed on the planet while their son Nikko Chan Tylar escaped.

*Nikko Chan Tylar - Enjoys wandering from system to system unlike his parents Marla Chan and Crim Tylar. He helped deliver wentals in his ship, Aquarius.

*Shelby - Took a potshot at an earth Manta cruiser attacking a Roamer greenhouse and was shot down.
