The Tasmanian Bands League (TBL) is the governing body of Tasmanian band competition. The 2006 state championships were held in October, at the University of Tasmania, Hobart. Hobart City Junior Concert Band were the winners in Junior 'B' grade concert band section, and Hobart City Concert Band won the 'B' grade concert band section which got them regraded to 'A' grade ready to compete in the Australian National Band Championships 2007 which will be held in Ivanhoe, an outer suburb of Melbourne, Victoria . The brass band section is divided into on stage and street march.
