It is best known for its athletics and additionally its medical magnet program. Palm Beach Gardens High School is currently under construction to build a new school to replace the 1969 campus. Academics
Palm Beach Gardens' academic program is based on local
School District of Palm Beach County policy, standards of the Florida Board of Education, and accreditation criteria issued by theSouthern Association of Colleges and Schools . Students are required to take 14 semester credits each year during their four years in the following disciplines: English, Social Studies, aforeign language ,Mathematics ,Science ,Physical Education , life management, and thearts . Students may choose to take honors classes and some opt to enroll in the variousAdvanced Placement classes offered.Optionally, students can participate in a
community service component requiring students to complete 100 hours serving their community during their time in high school.Athletics
In 1974 the Gator football team went 11-0, its first season undefeated, and earned a play-off spot against
Haines City High School . In 2005, the Gators won the Florida class 6A state championship in football. The softball team won back-to-back class 6A state championship titles in 2005 and 2006. The Gator lacrosse team recently won the 2008 1A Florida State championship, finishing thier season 20-0. Go Gardens Lacrosse! This 2008, the girl's varsity golf team just became the County's Conference Champion and is headed to Districts on October 13th, 2008 and Regionals on October 20th, 2008.
