In the film, some of the villagers are depicted asrapist s,abortionist s, andprostitute s for Baron's comedy movie. Two residents of Glod, Nicolae Todorache and Spiridon Ciorbea, have hired the services ofEdward Fagan to sue the producers of the film. The lawsuit was thrown out by U.S. District JudgeLoretta Preska in a hearing in early December 2006 on the ground that the charges were too vague to stand up in court. Fagan plans to refile.
