Docimodus is a small genus of cichlid fish endemic to east Africa. The genus contains two species; Docimodus johnstoni endemic to Lake Malawi, Lake Malombe and the upper reaches of the Shire River and Docimodus evelynae which is limited in its distribution to Lake Malawi.
