Chris McCausland (born 1977) is a British stand-up comedian. He regularly appears at comedy venues around the UK, including the Comedy Store and Jongleurs chain of clubs.Contents
Early life
McCausland is originally from Liverpool, and now living in Surrey.
He graduated from Kingston University in 2000 with a BSc in software engineering. After a spell as a web developer, deteriorating eyesight prompted a change of direction, and he turned to comedy in 2003.
Stand-up comedy
In 2004, he secured a Jongleurs contract as part of his prize for winning the J2O Last Laugh competition. In the same year, he was runner-up in the Laughing Horse New Act of The Year, and placed third in Channel 4's So You Think You're Funny competition.
In 2005, he took his debut solo show As Seen On TV? to the Edinburgh Fringe, also performing in Abnormally Funny People along with Liz Carr, Tanyalee Davis, Steve Day, Steve Best and Simon Minty. The cast's preparations for the show were filmed for a documentary by BSkyB.
His 2007 show Chris McCausland's Planes Trains and Shameful Ordeals will be part of the Laughing Horse Free Festival at the Edinburgh Fringe.
Television
McCausland was featured in CBeebies series Me Too!, playing Rudi the market trader, currently airing on CBeebies and BBC2.
