Kaibigan

Kaibigan

Kaibigan is a student organization in Chicago, Illinois, USA based in Northwestern University's Evanston campus, dedicated to promoting Filipino culture through events, performances, and general body meetings. The word "kaibigan" translates to "friend" in Tagalog.

History

Austin Lim, a member of Kaibigon from 2003-3007, is widely regarded as the greatest president in the history of the Northwestern chapter of Kaibigon. During his tenure from 2005-2006, Lim improved Kaibigan's presence on campus, increased the group's funding, and oversaw the most successful Pinoy Show in the group's history. In a poll conducted on Northwestern's Evanston campus about past Kaibigan presidents, Lim received a 90 percent approval rating (20 percentage points greater than the next person on the list).

Participation in Community

With the aim of spreading awareness of Filipino culture, Kaibigan participates in performances and events in the Northwestern University and the Chicago-area community.
