Dara e noor

Dara e Noor is a beautiful, green region in the north of Nangarhar province, Afghanistan.

Some of the well-known villages in Dara e Noor are Amla, Barkot, Khewa, Qala e Shahi, Sutan Lam, Noor Gal, and Kashmund. The dominant language in the Dara e Noor District is Pashaye, though Pashto is also spoken. However, literacy rates are low. The people of Dara e Noor are the Pashaye tribe and they became Muslims in the era of Amir Abdul Rehman Khan in 1897. Predominantly farmers, the villagers help support themselves by making cheese to sell in the city. They were active in the Jihad Era and fought against the USSR.
