White Wolf Fault

White Wolf Fault

The White Wolf Fault is a fault in southern California, located north of the intersection of the San Andreas Fault and the Garlock Fault, and north of the Tehachapi Mountains. It is classed as a reverse (vertical motion) fault with a left lateral (sinistral) component. The White Wolf fault was the source of the July 21, 1952 Kern County earthquake (M=7.3), the second largest earthquake in California during the 20th century.
