Minas Gerais , Evaldo earned a move to one of Brazil's top club's Atlético Paranaense in 2001, where he stayed for only one full season before fulfilling his dream of a move to European football, signing forFC Porto .The left back, although a promising talent, spent most of his time in the B team at Porto, but made 2 appearances for the first team in 2003/04, picking up a Superliga Championship medal as well. Evaldo signed forMarítimo in the summer of 2004 as part of the transfer that saw Pepe go the other way.
