Capuchino High School inSan Bruno, California , where she grew up, and attended theCollege of San Mateo inSan Mateo, California . She had a featured role in a production of "Patience " byGilbert & Sullivan , the very first performances by theSan Mateo Community Theatre , in the summer of 1963. [Eyewitness account by Robert E. Masterworks Chorale in San Mateo, under the direction ofGalen Marshall , and sang in a great variety of choral works, especially byLudwig van Beethoven andJohannes Brahms . She proved a versatile, dramatic soprano and also appeared with theSan Francisco Symphony Orchestra and theSan Francisco Opera .
