He continues to perform with his brothers and also without them as a solo act. He is releasing a new album 'A Tribute to Classic Rock' and also tours worldwide.
Merrill was the fifth of the nine children of Olive Osmond and George Osmond and was the first of the performing siblings to marry. He married Mary Carlson on September 17, 1973; they have four sons, two daughters, and ten grandchildren. Merrill's second son, Justin Osmond, is deaf, just as Merrill's two oldest brothers, Virl and Tom are deaf. Justin works with several organizations and launched the Olive Osmond Perpetual Hearing Fund in late 2010.
Like the rest of his family, Merrill is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In keeping with church tradition, all of his sons have served as missionaries.
Merrill's son Shane has three daughters, Aspen Rushelle born 2003, Andelyn Sherina born 2005 and McCaul Osmond born July 21, 2009. Merrill's daughter Heather has three sons, Keaton Kade born 2005, Kruze born 2008 and Lincoln T. Hallows born 2009. His eldest son Travis has two daughters, Cassidi and Clanci Osmond. His youngest daughter Sheila has two children, son Emmitt Dean born 2009, and daughter Alexis Frishknecht born July 3, 2011.
He is the only Osmond to have never had major dental reconstructive surgery, and is "proud of the teeth that nature gave me".[citation needed]
