Melvin Wayne Osmond (b. August 28, 1951) is the second oldest of the original Osmond Brothers singers. He began performing in 1962.

History

Wayne Osmond has been performing since he was six years old and made his national television debut on the Andy Williams Show with brothers, Alan, Merrill, and Jay as a quartet. They appeared on the Andy Williams Show for seven years. Wayne, along with his vocals, plays a variety of instruments: the flute, clarinet, saxophone, violin, banjo, piano, drums, guitar and bagpipe. Wayne Osmond with brothers Merrill and Alan wrote many of the Osmonds' hit songs in the 1970s.

Family

In 1974, Wayne married Kathlyn White. Kathlyn is from Bountiful, Utah and Miss Davis County Fair (Davis County, Utah) and Miss Utah of 1974. Wayne and Kathlyn have five children, three girls and two boys. The Osmond's oldest daughter, Amy Osmond, was America's Junior Miss for 1994 [ [http://pageantcenter.com/americas_junior_miss.html Pageant Center: America's Junior Miss] ] and has also released a CD of Christmas music playing the violin. His daughter Amy is married to Jeff Cook and together she and Jeff have two daughters named Elizabeth and Jennifer Cook. Amy also has two children from a previous marriage namedJacob and Maia Bingham. His son Steven is married to Anneli Peterson and they have three children together named Aili, Paul, and Elyssa Osmond. His son Gregory is married to KaylynnMcConkie and they are expecting a son in October of 2008. His daughter Sarah is married to Adam Hilton and they have one son named Noah Hilton.

In the 1990s, Wayne moved to Branson, Missouri where he performs with his brothers at the Osmond Family Theater, Country Tonight, Moon River Theater, and Branson Variety Theater as well as touring with the Osmond brothers. Though the Osmond lineup changes from time to time, Wayne continues full-time.

In 1997, Wayne was diagnosed with a brain tumor which was successfully treated. Wayne remains an avid aviation enthusiast.
