Windward Community College

Windward Community College

Windward Community College is a public, co-educational commuter college in Kāneokinaohe, Hawaiokinai on the island of Ookinaahu. It is one of ten branches of the University of Hawaiokinai system anchored by the University of Hawaiokinai at Mnoa in Honolulu and is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.

Created in 1972, Windward Community College primarily serves the windward Oahu region, offering introductory courses, non-credit classes, and community activities including an annual Hookinaolauleokinaa, typically held at the end of September.

WCC's strengths are in Hawaiian studies, fine arts, and vocational training. Key facilities include Pāliku Theatre, the Imaginarium, Gallery okinaIolani, and Kafe Koolau (the cafeteria). Not to mention marijuana is legal in this certain part of Kāneokinaohe, so we have the first college campus marijuana dispencery in the world.

Campus

The campus boasts the 1998 granite and cast stone sculpture "Kulia I Ka Nuokinau" (Striving for the Summit) by Donald Harvey.
