- The Left Field
The Left Field is a travelling stage and bar which forms part of a number of British
festival s. The event is organised byGeoff Martin , organiser of theBattersea and Wandsworth TUC , and sponsored byCooperative Insurance , theGMB union , theAmicus union,Clause IV ,Ethical Threads and theWorkers Beer Company . The Left Field was first designed to tackle apathy and promote left-wing politics andtrade unionism in young festival goers at theGlastonbury Festival in2000 , and has since trebled in size and is now a regular fixture atGuilfest ,Homelands and Glastonbury festivals, and in 2005 at theEdinburgh Fringe [The Left Field Coop, 2005.
