el-Amin Q'Drae (born Maceo M. Hendrix, 13 June 1969 in Detroit, Michigan), known professionally as Mace, is an American R&B and pop songwriter, keyboardist, pianist, record producer, and entrepreneur. He is associated with the UR-X International, LLC; a business formed by him and his brother Dr. Malik al Shabazz "Tre" Q'Drae. Under the parent company of UR-X, they also have a music production company called 13th Day Musiq as well as a Website Design company, LongStreet Designz. He is second cousin to Freman Hendrix, former Deputy Mayor of Detroit.

History

el-Amin (complete name alHajj-Shabazz el-Amin Q'Drae {pronounced Kahdir}) is the third child born to Walter James Hendrix Jr. & Hattie Patricia Russell-Hendrix. He is the brother of Walter J. Hendrix III (aka Malik Q'Drae), Kecia L. Hendrix & Karen C. Hendrix. Amin (as he is known amongst friends), Malik, and Kecia were born in Detroit, Michigan. After a few years they, along with their parents, moved to Birmingham, Alabama; where his younger sister Karen was born.

During his high school years at A.H. Parker High School, he was an honor student and appeared in Who's Who Among American High School Students three consecutive years and lettered in track & field. After graduation from high school Amin Joined the United States Marine Corps. He did his basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina. In 1989 he got assigned to an Air Force base in Bitburg, Germany; where he met his first wife.

Family

Amin has been married two times and has three children and two step-children. He first met Belinda Ybarra while he was stationed in Texas. After dating for a few months, they both got stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi for training. During this time they got engaged and began to plan a family. In October 1989, They both found out that Belinda was pregnant. Because she got assigned to Texas and Amin to Germany the relatinship began to deteriorate and ended in January 1990. However while Amin was serving over-seas, Belinda give birth to his son on 29 June 1990 "(his name would have been Myke'l-Andru Çynkai Hendrix)", but put him up for adoption, without the knowledge or consent of Amin. This devastated him and he continues to try and fight for some kind of rights to see his child.

In May 1990 Amin met his wife-to-be Katharina P. Kipergil (aka Petra). Katharina is a Turkish woman born and raised in Germany and had been married to an American soldier. From her previous marriage she had a daughter JoAnna Chantel (aka Aisha Jasmin)and a son Joseph Henry. They began to date and after the Gulf War ended, they were married in March 1991, Amin adopted both children and they took his birth last name, Hendrix; the young boy's name was completely changed to Maceo M. Hendrix II (aka Malik al Rahim bin Amin Q'Drae). Amin was discharged from the military and for a few months they resided in Birmingham, Alabama. Because Katharina was uncomfortable living so far away from home, they moved back to Germany in December 1991. While there Amin read "The Autobiography of Malcolm X" which--along with his experiences--led him to convert to Islam.

On 29 July 1992, Katharina gave birth to Amin's first biological daughter, Justina-Katharina Le'Shae Hendrix (aka Jordan-Amina Latifah bint Amin Q'Drae). Two year later, she gave birth to another daughter, Bria-Khadija Scherryce Hendrix (aka Khadija Fatima Cansu bint Amin Q'Drae) on 31 March 1994. Amin and Katharina divorce in March 1999 after 8 years of marriage.

Amin was in another relationship for several years with a woman that he prefers to put in the past and leave there. On 30 November 2003 Amin's father succumbed to cancer, at the same time his rocky, on/off relationship came to an end. After the funeral he returned to Europe where he then resided in Luxembourg and Nice, France.

In April 2005 he had to return to America on business and through a mutual friend, he met Niymet Çifteci (Nici), a Turkish born Syrian woman. They remained in contact with each other over the internet until she came to visit him in May of that year. After he completed his business there, they returned to Europe and moved to The Netherlands, where Amin once again worked for the Department of Defense. After a year in Holland they decided to pack up and move to Adana, Turkey. Amin and Niymet are awaiting their first child together; a son who will be named al Amir Djibril-Akeyl Naci bin Amin Q'Drae.

Amin & Niymet's son al Amir was born on 7 February 2007. Also Amin has received his Doctorate in Computer Sciences.

UR-X

Malik has several Bachelor of Science degrees, three Master of Science degree and his Doctorate. Amin has a Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from Herzing College in Birmingham, a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science, also in Computer Science; graduating all "Suma Cum Laude". While in Germany working for the Department of Defense he used some of his earnings to start a business with his brother--who at the same time, but in America, had also converted to Islam--called UR-X International, LLC to utilize the skills and knowledge that they had acquired over the years.

Primarily they focus on Website development and anything in the Information Technology field, however Amin has a background in music and because of this the have branched out into producing and writing. Over the years Amin has teamed up with many up and coming artists. Some of them being Brixx a German born Hungarian female rapper, Jamil & Jamal from Frankfurt, Germany, Naser, Travis Gentry, and his life long friend Kenneth Powe. 13th Day Musiq is currently working with such artists as Ric-a-che, Blac-E-Blac, 7th Nation & related artist with D.I.M. (Doin' It Major) as well as being in collaboration with producers Vic Cotton of Gem 'n' Eyez Production & Carry Schwarz (Carrynkesh).
