Thaksin University ( _th. มหาวิทยาลัยทักษิณ), located in Songkhla, is one of Thailand's government supported public universities. It began in 1968 as the southern campus of the College of Education, offering a bachelor's of education degree. It was renamed Srinakharinwirot University, Songkla campus, in 1974. It finally became an independent public university in 1996.

Thaksin University is organized academically into Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Education, and The Institute for Southern Thai Studies. In addition to the main campus in Songkhla, the university also has an extension campus in Phatthalung.
