Borodino, New York

Borodino is a hamlet located in the Town of Spafford in Onondaga County, New York One of the famous sayings of the town is "Happiness is a Borodino pancake" because the volunteer firemen put on pancake breakfasts often in the summer. The boat "The Judge Ben Wiles" was built in Borodino. There is a boat launch into Skaneateles Lake for residents. A country store, the Vernak Farm Store, was built in 2007. The Borodino Market located in a Historic One Room Schoolhouse at Schoolhouse Farms is a seasonal "Eco-ganic' speciality market and farm stand located in the heart of Borodino on Rose Hill Road or Rte 174 as it is known as well.
