History

Kitsap Mall opened in 1985 with great success. As a result Seattle malls started to shrink in business. In 1986 Kitsap Mall's anchors were Lamonts, Sears, JCPenney, The Bon Marche, and Mervyns. In 2000 Lamonts became Gottschalks. In 2006 Kitsap Mall received a big change as Gottschalks closed down. The building that Gottschalks had been in was torn down and replaced by a new building. It is now home to Barnes and Noble and Cost Plus World Market. In 2007 Mervyns closed down. It has been replaced by a new building for Kohls.
