His father was an
accountant and as a child he attended Wellacre Primary School in Flixton,Urmston andStretford Grammar School nearManchester and had a number of acting roles ontelevision , including that of Stanley Fairclough in thesoap opera , "Coronation Street ". The Canterville Ghost , the lead inPinocchio , (1968 TV programmeHallmark Hall of Fame 's presentation ofPinocchio ), and three films forMGM : "Mrs. Brown, You've Got A Lovely Daughter", "Hold On!" and "When The Boys Meet The Girls". More recently, he received favourable reviews in the lead role of Frederic in severalBroadway theatre productions of "The Pirates of Penzance " during the 1980s. Also in that decade, Noone fronted a new-wave band called the Tremblers, and released his soloalbum , "One of the Glory Boys".He was the host of
