Jarry Park

Jarry Park (French: Parc Jarry) is an urban park in the Villeray neighbourhood of Montreal. The Jarry Park Stadium which is located in the SW corner of this park was home of the first Montreal baseball team and also was host to Pope John Paul II. A hall dedicated to the pontiff is now district police station 31 (Villeray).

There are baseball, cricket and soccer fields, a skate park, tennis courts, a public pool a basket-ball field, an artificial lake and a lovely walk-in under trees. In addition there is the monument "Paix des enfants" ("Children's Peace"), consisting of violent toys fused together.

The is bordered by Faillon Street on the south east to Jarry Street on the north west and by Saint Laurent Boulevard on the north east to the Canadian Pacific track on the south west.

The park was named to honor Raoul Jarry (1885-1930), a member of Montreal's City Council.
