Biography
Lazarus was born on 5 December 1938 in Stepney, London, into a Jewish family. Two of his brothers were boxers, one of whom, Lew Lazar, fought for the British title at Welterweight and Middleweight.
Career
Lazarus began his career with Barking, before becoming a professional in 1958 with Leyton Orient. He also played for Queens Park Rangers, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Brentford and Crystal Palace, before playing non-league football with Folkestone. He scored the winning goal for QPR in the 1967 League Cup Final against West Bromwich Albion, the game finished 3–2 to QPR. Was transferred from Orient to Arsenal.
