Olympic medal record Men’s athletics Competitor for the United States Bronze 1920 Antwerp 1500 metres Marion Lawrence "Larry" Shields (March 5, 1895 – February 19, 1976) was an American athlete who competed mainly in the 1500 meters.
He competed for the United States in the 1920 Summer Olympics held in Antwerp, Belgium in the 1500 meters where he won the bronze medal. He was also part of the gold medal winning American team in the 3000 metre team race but he was not awarded with a medal due to being one of the two weakest links of the team.
He was born in West Chester, Pennsylvania and died in Marblehead, Massachusetts.
