Olympic medal record Men’s athletics Competitor for the United States Bronze 1908 London Pole vault Charles Jacobs (Charles Sherman Jacobs; February 15, 1882 - February 1945) was an American athlete who competed mainly in the pole vault.
Jacobs was Jewish.[1] He competed for the United States in the 1908 Summer Olympics held in London, Great Britain in the pole vault where he won the bronze medal jointly with Canadian Edward Archibald and Swedish athlete Bruno Söderström. He also set the world indoor pole vault record in 1909, which was unsurpassed for three years.[2]
