Its length is up to 26 cm.The blackmouth lanternshark is slender, with rather narrow eyes and a pale naked patch on the upper eyelid. The
caudal peduncle is elongate. The hook-likedenticle s are extremely dense, very thin, delicate, and arranged in poorly defined longitudinal rows. It is found on the outermostcontinental shelves and upper slopes.Coloration is light brown above, becoming darker ventrally with black around the mouth. Distinct black markings behind the
pelvic fin s, on thecaudal peduncle , and the uppercaudal fin . Reproduction isovoviviparous .References
