Verses of the Bleeding

Verses of the Bleeding

"Verses of the Bleeding" is the 9th track on the Jedi Mind Tricks album "Legacy of Blood". The track features Des Devious from the Army of the Pharaohs and is produced by Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind.

Lyrics

Verse one

The first verse is delivered by Vinnie Paz and opens with the Islamic Takbir "Allāhu Akbar" (الله أكبر) which is an Arabic expression, and translated to English as thus: "Allah is greatest" Allah in Arabic is the word for God. Vinnie Paz, at the end of the verse makes an allusion to Imam Hussain who was the grandson of Muhammad the lyrics are as follows: cquote|"And did Imam Hussein, know that he would be killed?" This is a historical reference to the death of Imam Hussian at the Battle of Karbala in the year 680 A force of about 3000 surrounded Imam Hussian and cut off his camp from their water supply. After a long and hard-fought battle, Imam Hussian and his warriors (said to number only 72) were killed. Ali Asghar, Imam Hussian's son, was shot in the head with an arrow that penetrated Imam Hussian's arms as he attempted to shield his infant. The surviving women and children were taken captive and delivered to Yazid in Damascus, along with the severed heads of Imam Hussian and those of his close companions. Yazid enslaved Imam Hussians surviving family members and companions and confiscated their property. [ [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Husayn_ibn_Ali#Battle_of_Karbala] (See foot note on link.)]
