GALSI ( _it. di Gasdotto Algeria Sardegna Italia) is a planned natural gas pipeline from
Algeria toSardinia and further northernItaly .Route
The pipeline will start from the
Hassi R'mel field in Algeria and the convert|640|km|mi|0 section will run toEl Kala at the coast ofMediterranean Sea . The convert|310|km|mi|0 offshore section with two legs will be laid between El Kala andPortoscuso (CI), Sardinia. The Sardinian section is planned approximately convert|300|km|mi|-1 from the south toOlbia . The offshore section between Sardinia and Italian mainland is convert|280|km|mi|0 and the landfall site will be Rosignano (LI). It will be hooked up to the existing Italian gas grid at a point inTuscany .The exact offshore route will be selected by Dutch engineering contractor
