The Swiss Literary Archives (SLA - Schweizerische Literaturarchiv) in
Bern collectsliterary remains in all four national languages ofSwitzerland (German, French, Italian andRomansh language ). It is part of theSwiss National Library operated by theFederal Office of Culture within theFederal Department of Home Affairs .The archives were foundated in
1991 and are located in the building of theSwiss National Library . The foundation can be tracked back to the last will of the writerFriedrich Dürrenmatt , who died in1989 . Dürrenmatt gave his literary remains to the state, but under the condition, that the state establishes a national archive for literature.The Swiss Literary Archives today contain around 100 important literaty remains and premortal-remains and about 120 partial remains and collections, including material from:
