The X Factor

The MacDonald Brothers appeared in the third series of the hit talent show "The X Factor". Originally auditioning in Glasgow, the pair made it through to the "Bootcamp" stage of the series and eventually the live shows. They were the last in the 'Groups' category to be voted out, mentored by Louis Walsh that series, finishing fourth overall.

They attracted certain criticism from judge Simon Cowell during the live shows, as he believed they did not merit their place in the show. [ [http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/editors-choice/2007/08/18/cowell-back-and-nastier-than-ever-86908-19654768/ Cowell Back and Nastier than ever] ]

Post-X Factor

Since "The X Factor" ended, The MacDonald Brothers released an eponymous first album with the Scottish music label " [http://www.themusickitchen.co.uk/ The Music Kitchen] ". This reached number 1 in the Scottish charts and number 18 across the UK charts. Their second album "The World Outside" was released on 15 October 2007 and included the song "Runaway (Do You Love Me)", which was written by Elton John. [ [http://www.themacdonaldbros.com/tabid/224/Default.aspx Runaway - by Sir Elton John] ]
