Located at the eastern edge of theEthiopian highlands in the Semien Shewa Zone, Mafud Mezezo Mojana is bordered on the south byDebre Berhan Zuria , on the west by theOromia Region , on the northwest byGera Midira Keya Gebriel , on the north byMam Midrina Lalo Midir , on the northeast byKewet , and on the southeast by theAfar Region . The administrative center of this woreda isSela Dingay ; other towns in this woreda include Debre Sina andMezezo .Rivers in this woreda include the Mofar.
Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 187,033, of whom 94,485 were males and 92,548 were females; 17,658 or 9.44% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 11.8%. With an estimated area of 1,202.82 square kilometers, Mafud Mezezo Mojana has an estimated population density of 155.5 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 134.37.
