Usubeni Tennyo The Jade Trilogy is a set of three fantasy novels written by Japanese award-winning fantasy writer
Noriko Ogiwara . The trilogy consists of the original novel and its two sequels.Overview
The first novel of the trilogy, originally written in Japanese as: "Sorairo Magatama" (空色勾玉 "Sky-colored Jade"; see
magatama ), won her several awards for children's literature and was translated into English by Cathy Hirano as "Dragon Sword and Wind Child "; the English version is now out-of-print in the United States of America, but is available in public libraries and online book stores in America and in Japan (in its original language and cover page). After the success of Dragon Sword and Wind Child, Ogiwara later wrote a sequel to the story of the original novel, this sequel was titled "Hakuchou Iden" (白鳥異伝 "Swan's Strange Legend"). The sequel was also praised by the Japanese media and fans of the original novel.
The author would later continue the story with another sequel called "Usubeni Tennyo" (薄紅天女 "Pink Nymph"); this book was also a favorite among fans of the original novel and like the first two novels is still in print to this day in Japan.
The last two sequels of the trilogy have only been published in Japanese and are only available through book stores, libraries, and online stores in Japan along with the original novel. These three books together are known as "The Jade Trilogy". So far there has not been any effort to translate the last two sequels of the fantasy story. Recently the first novel of the series was recently re-released in the United States and Canada by Viz Media which could lead to a possibility that the sequels will released in English in the near future.
