Braddock's Field is a historic battlefield on the banks of the
Monongahela River , near the junction of Turtle Creek, east ofPittsburgh, Pennsylvania . French and Indian forces fromFort Duquesne ambushed and defeated British GeneralEdward Braddock there, on July 5, 1755, in the Battle of the Monongahela.
