Naumoviella Novot. (1950)Mortierella is a genus of fungi in the Mortierellaceae family of the Zygomycota. The widespread genus contains about 85 species.[2]
Reproduction
Small sporangia, (perhaps sporangiola), in which columella are absent, instead being borne on awl-shaped sporangiospores. Chlamydospores are often present as well. Zygospores are, when present, distinctively shaped with a smooth or dimpled texture, with a hyaline, or clear, nature. Species in the family are commonly found as psychrophilic, or "cold-loving" soil saprobes.
