Fay Moulton (April 7, 1876 - February 18, 1945) was an American athlete and sprinter who competed in the early twentieth century. He also was a college football head coach. Moutlon was born in Marion Center, Marion County, Kansas and died in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.

Olympic history

Moulton won a bronze medal in Athletics at the 1904 Summer Olympics in the men's 60 metre dash, but was beaten by Archie Hahn who took gold and William Hogenson who won silver. In the 100 metres event as well as in the 200 metres competition he finished fourth.

Two years later he won the silver medal in the 100 metre competition at the 1906 Intercalated Games. [ [http://www.nationalchamps.net/NCAA/database/kansasstate_database.htm NationalChamps.net] "Kansas State Football History Database"] His overall coaching record at Kansas State was 2 wins, 4 losses, and 0 ties. As of the conclusion of the 2007 season, this ranks him 22nd at Kansas State in terms of total wins and 18th at Kansas State in terms of winning percentage. 1900 Season Overview

During his year of coaching at Kansas State, his team was outscored by opponents 47-100, with the two victories against Fairmont College (now called Wichita State University) under Harry Hess and Kansas Wesleyan University. Low attendance

Unlike teams under modern-day head football coaches Bill Snyder and Ron Prince, Kansas State football did not draw huge crowds in 1900. After K-State lost a home football game with Kansas State Normal (now Emporia State University by a score of 11-0, one reporter wrote that "The only disgraceful feature of the whole game was the crowd that witnessed it....The gate receipts did not pay one-third of the expenses....Not until there can be free co-operation of both students and college authorities for the support of the cause can K.A.C. ever hope to be successful on the intercollegiate athletic field." Academic suspensions

One of the teams' two wins for the season, against Kansas Weslyan, was notable because Coach Moulton led his team to victory despite the fact that approximately one-third of the team had been placed on academic suspension for failing mid-term exams.
