Brandywine Realty Trust (NYSE|BDN) is a real estate development trust (
REIT ) in the United States that buys, sells, leases and manages approximately 225 commercial properties, no more than 25 industrial parcels of land, mixed-use property, and over convert|200|acre|km2 of undeveloped parcels. They also offer construction and development services to other property owners. It operates in theMid-Atlantic states region (mostly in the greater Philadelphia metropolitan area), as well as theMidwest ,California , andTexas . The company was founded in 1985 inPlymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania , and is currently located in Radnor.In 2006, Brandywine bought out Prentiss Properties Trust for $3.3 billion, more than doubling its holdings. In 2004-2005, they recently built the
Cira Centre (designed byCésar Pelli ) next to Philadelphia's 30th Street Station, on land leased fromAmtrak .Chase Manhattan Mortgage Company andLiberty Mutual Insurance Company are among its greater metropolitan Philadelphia area lessees.External links
