Heinrich ("Heinz") Ludwig Fütterer (born
October 14 ,1931 ) is a West German athlete, who mainly competed in sprint events. He was born in Illingen. His nickname is "Weisser Blitz" which means "White Flash" because he was the only white man who could keep up with the black runners at that time.He competed for the
United Team of Germany in the1956 Summer Olympics held inMelbourne ,Australia where he won the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 metre relay with his team matesLothar Knörzer ,Leonhard Pohl andManfred Germar . Two years earlier he won two gold medals at the European Championships inBern, Switzerland .References
