The Sloop "Montgomery" (
1776 ) was an Americanprivateer during theAmerican Revolution . It was captained by William Rogers, who was succeed byWilliam Mercier . It compiled a successful capture record during its service. Thenius Thew 2nd Lieut.John Leaycraft On August 19th, 1776, the Captain of the Sloop Montgomery, named Daniel Bucklin appeared at a Prize case court hearing in Salem, Massachusettes, alongside Elias Hasket Derby, the Merchant Agent for the sailors of the Sloop Revenge, Captained by Joseph White, in regards to the capture of the British ship the Anna Maria and the proportioning of its cargo.
