Plot

The kids of small-time crook Jack Charles [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patrick_Swayze (Patrick Swayze)] are put in state-run homes when their mother dies. Jack's teenage daughter Kelly [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sabrina_Lloyd (Sabrina Lloyd)] escapes the abusive home where she lives, and convinces Jack to pick up her younger brother Eddie [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Bonsall (Brian Bonsall)] too. At first Jack tries to dump them with their grandmother, but she's a gambler and a cheat so the the cops are after her too. He then takes the kids to [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Orleans New Orleans] with him, where he plans to pull off a big heist that could set him up for life.
