"The Law of Dreams" is a novel by Peter Behrens, published in 2006 by Steerforth Press in the United States and House of Anansi Press in Canada. It won the 2006 Governor General's Award for English language fiction.

The book is set during the Irish potato famine of 1847.

The book is acclaimed by critics. Ron Charles, a senior editor of The Washington Post's Book World section, named it his favourite of 2006 and compares Behrens' style to "pure magic". As of June 2007 the book has sold 8,367 copies in the United States.
