Didier

Didier is a French name. It comes from the Latin name Didius, which was used in antique Rome (as in Titus Didius, 1st century BC, and the Roman emperor Didius Julianus 132-193).

During the 5th century AD, with the christianisation of ancient pagan names, it was decided to associate a new latin translation to this name: Desiderius or "Desiderare", meaning "desiring", "aspiring to"...
